Recipe Notes

  • I love adding an entire can of sauerkraut, but reduce by half if sauerkraut isn’t your thing.
  • Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and add to a greased baking dish to make this in the oven. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes, or until heated through.
  • Serve with pita bread, crackers, chips or veggie sticks.

Do you suggest using the Bavarian (sweet) kraut or the regular? ps, I discovered you blog after camping next to your RV in Rice Co last summer.

Wow Kathie, that is really cool! You should’ve come over and said hi. I’m glad you checked out Pip and Ebby. I use regular sauerkraut in this recipe, but it might be a fun twist to try a sweeter version! Let me know if you give it a shot. Thanks for reaching out!

In this recipe, I used deli meat. However, if I had some leftovers from a cooked meal, I would definitely enjoy using it for this recipe too! Thanks for asking!

Hi Donna, I have never tried to but I think you should be able to! A nice slow warm up when you take it out of the freezer would be good.

Hi TMT! I am not a huge fan of Swiss, either, and I promise you won't taste that "bite" that it can leave in your mouth. If you are totally opposed to trying it, mozzarella or havarti would work great, as well! Let me know what you use and how it turns out!

Love the idea of this, but i HATE swiss…any other thoughts on another cheese? Provolone, white cheddar, mozzarella, Havarti (not sure in a dip)?
