How to get to hard stone 5 fast (2024)

Title.

I need hardstone collection 5 and was going to start the grind but was wondering if there was a better way to do it.
Im working on minions but at the mmoment i am very broke

One tip I can offer is to save on pickaxe fuel by using Jungle Pickaxe (acquired from Odawa in Jungle region of Crystal Hollows), and also put Heated reforge on it for max speed. Yeah, Mole perk in HOTM (tier 6 i think) is the biggest Hard Stone multiplier so make sure you max out all your powder levels for max efficiency of your time. But before Mole, you should have already maxxed out your mining speed perk and if you're not maxxed yet then you still need to be grinding mithril powder. There's a certain mining speed threshhold (I forget the exact number) which if you can reach it then you can insta-mine Hard Stone with the Jungle Pickaxe.

i used a bunch of hard stone minions while grinding powder in jungle, so i got it really fast

good lord no, with Mole perk maxxed I think you're getting a stack of hard stone every 4 swings of a pick.
The phrase "Hard Stone Leaderboard" never entered my mind, not once was it ever a goal of mine, but somehow I'm right around the top 100 on that list, and while I did run Hard Stone Minions for a brief while, the Tier 12 is slow as molasses and you will be MUCH better off mining stone by hand. I didn't run my minions for very long once I realized how slow they are. If you grind mining like I did, you will accumulate Hard Stone in the millions over time.

either you do what i did and get two hardstone 9 minions and let it sit there for 2 weeks or you skip it entirely and get jaded sorrow + bal
i suggest skippin if u have a decent money method
(im also assuming you want yog)

minig it by hand sucks but its also an option
you could get some powder too

im trying to get into mining to get money I currently have 600k in the bank so sorrow is not and option

Hard Stone Minions are like Inferno Minions, they're very slow for making materials to upgrade (2nd most base materials needed for a minion's max upgrade; 1st is Inferno Minion)

Before you think about getting money, go for HOTM 6 or 7. Starting HOTM 6 you can get an increased chance for chests.
You need 2m/2m powder to be able to farm via Armadillo.
Going for hardstone grinding at your stage will be even worse than farming mushrooms with 400 FF.
1st: low speed
2nd: no freakin reason to hardstone mine for money

Without Mole and Great Explorer it's literally wasted time mining anything in the hollows.
