Tennessee falls to Texas A&M in opener of CWS Finals (2024)

OMAHA, Ne. (WVLT) - Tennessee fell to Texas A&M 9-5 in game one of the 2024 College World Series finals.

TOP FIRST INNING

On the third pitch of the game, Gavin Grahovac launched a solo home run to give the Aggies an early lead | Texas A&M 1, Tennessee 0

Jackson Appel doubled with one out, putting a runner at second.

An error on Dean Curley put runners at the corners. It would end Chris Stamos’ day as AJ Causey came on in relief.

Causey recorded a strikeout on the first batter he faced for the second out of the inning.

A single from Caden Sorrell up the middle drove in A&M’s second run of the game | Texas A&M 2, Tennessee 0

With runners on the corners, Sorrell stole second to put runners at second and third.

Causey struck out Ali Camarillo to end the inning and limit the damage to two runs.

Tennessee struck out twice in the first as the Aggies retired the side in order.

AJ Causey struck out the first two batters of the inning as part of a 1-2-3 top of the second.

Kirby Connell came on to pitch at the start of the fifth inning.
