SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - A semi-truck caught on fire on northbound Highway 75, causing standstill traffic. The fire happened at near Sam Rayburn Freeway frontage road and West Staples Street. The fire is out, but the highway is still at a standstill. The Sherman fire and police department were working until 7 a.m. to put out the fire. The fire reportedly started before 5:40 a.m. after the truck hit a jersey wall. Sherman police confirmed there were no fatalities. Authorities had no timeline for when the truck will be put out or cleared, but stated it would be “a while”. As of 6:45 a.m., north and southbound have been shut down.Citizens are urged to find alternative routes and avoid Highway 75.
