FAQs

What is the difference between AirPods A2031 and A2032? ›

It would defeat the entire process of assigning a serial number. Those aren't serial numbers; they're model numbers. A2031 is a second-generation right-ear AirPod; A2032 is its left-ear counterpart. (Thanks to Ilya Shapiro for getting my right and left straightened out!)

What generation are my AirPods A2031? ›

The second generation AirPods remained on sale with a price cut following the release of the third generation in October 2021, but only available with the Lightning charging case. The model numbers for the second-generation AirPods are A2032 and A2031.

Should both AirPods have the same model number? ›

If your AirPods are functioning normally and you purchased them from a legitimate source, these differences in model and serial numbers are likely not a cause for concern.

Why do my AirPods have two different model numbers? ›

Some models have two model numbers because the left and right AirPod have their own number: AirPods (1st generation): A1523, A1722.

Do AirPods A2031 have noise cancelling? ›

Do Regular AirPods Have Noise Cancelation? Unfortunately, the standard AirPods (first, second, and third-generation models) don't have ANC. This is because they don't feature eartips like the AirPods Pro to seal outside sound.
